Pelichet Bay Rugby Suporters Club

Helping to develop young rugby players in Otago

The development of young rugby players in our clubs is vital to the strength and depth of rugby in the region of Otago. The cost of developing a high performance young rugby player and providing equipment for their training is up to $600 per year per player and only a small fraction of this can be recovered through player subs.

Otago University Rugby Football Club (OURFC) has established a rugby supporters club to fund equipment for players and assist in the financial costs of player development with OURFC. The name of the supporters club is Pelichet Bay Rugby Supporters Club. Pelichet Bay, pronounced Pelicha, was the name of the bay that was enclosed with a causeway at the end of Union Street to become Lake Logan and then later reclaimed for the World Fair to form Logan Park.

The mechanism for support is regular automatic payments of an amount chosen by the supporter, typically $10 per week; however a supporter is free to give more if they wish. We ask that supporters make a commitment of two years at which time they may seek to renew their membership. Membership is limited to 100 members.

Members will be presented with a pin in acknowledgment of their contribution and a unique member number and acknowledgement within OURFC. Members of the supporters club will also become members of OURFC for the duration of their PBRSC membership and will be invited to an annual dinner on an ITM game night and receive a free ticket to the ITM game at Forsyth Barr Stadium.
